Early/Rough Shot List and Possible Scenes for the Trailers for the 'The Receptionist'
Here are some early thoughts about my shot list for my trailers. At this stage it is still very rough, and I am still in the process of finalising my ideas for which elements might appear in which trailer.
Possible scene with woman crying in the bathroom
Mise-en-scene:
- wearing white dress
Camera shots:
- extreme close up of her face
- black make-up dripping down
- over the shoulder shot of her looking in the mirror
- close up of her hands in sink
- shot from the side medium close up splashing water on face
- shot from the other side of her but still medium close up cleaning her face
- shot of her in the mirror re-doing her hair
- medium shot of her going to open the bathroom door
- close up of her opening the door handle
Possible scene of woman being abused/chatted up in an alleyway by a couple of men
Mise-en-scene:
- men in suits
- woman carrying books
Camera shots:
- high angle shot of her walking (vulnerability)
- low angle shot of guys talking to her (powerful/sinister/threatening)
- tight framing to imply she is trapped
Possible scene of woman going back inside and talking to female colleague - who says that men can be assholes - also says that the boss wants to see her
Mise-en-scene:
- smartly dressed
- cigarette
Camera shots:
- over the shoulder shots
- close ups/medium close ups to show emotion
Possible scene in office - boss tries to sexually assault her, she grabs something off his desk, hits him with it and kills him
Mise-en-scene:
- man in suit
- coffee cup or trophy
Camera shots:
- arc shot
- close ups on props
- tight framing (threatening)
- high angles of the woman
- low angles of the man
