Analysing Taglines on Posters From the Film Noir Genre

I will be including a tagline in the trailers and on the poster that I create for 'The Receptionist', so I am going to analyse the taglines from existing noir and neo-noir films to look for similarities and patterns. I will also consider the way the tagline reflects the narrative of my own film, as well as the genre, when creating mine.

'Island of Lost Souls'

The panther woman lured men on - only to destroy them body and soul!

'The Asphalt Jungle'

The City Under the City

'The Third Man'

What a chase he led them!

'Rebecca'

Could the secret of Manderley destroy their love?/Between his lips and hers, the secret of this woman!

'Sunset Boulevard'

'The Maltese Falcon'
