Poster Drafts - Photoshop
My poster went through a number of drafts using Photoshop. Below I have included these drafts so that you can see the process that I went through when constructing my final poster.
First I added the billing block, converting it from black to white.
Then I added the first of my production company logos, which I inverted so that it was white rather than black.
Then I added the second production company logo, aligning it in the opposite corner from the first and also inverting it.
I then added my tagline as two separate lines on top of each other.
At the top of the poster I referenced other films from the same producers.
I then added the first of my reviews, focusing on the film's lead actor and her chances of awards success.
I added another review, referencing the film's director and using language which I felt reflected the murky, dark criminality of my storyline and chosen genre.
I added a final review, referencing the film noir genre.
I then added a release date at the bottom of the poster.
In between the billing block and the release date I added a social media hashtag.
I then placed the title of the film prominently in the middle of the poster, making sure it was the largest copy, also slanting the font to make it more eye-catching.
I then added a reference to an award, from the Berlin Film Festival.
I added a second award from the Sundance Film Festival.
Finally, I added a last award, from Cannes.
